Ibiza is known around the world for its clubs, but the night here has more than one side. You can have a late dinner by the sea, dance until the sun comes up or enjoy a quiet drink on a terrace, all from Es Canar, on the east coast of the island.
When the island goes out
The club season runs from April to October. Opening parties arrive in late April or early May, July and August are the busiest months and closing parties stretch into mid-October. If you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, June and September strike a good balance: there is a programme and fewer people.
The big clubs
Amnesia, Hï Ibiza, Ushuaïa, Pacha, DC10 and Cova Santa make up the island’s best-known circuit. Each has its own character and music, so it is worth checking the line-up before you choose. The most famous nights tend to sell out in high season, so it is best to buy tickets in advance.
If it is your first time, start with a single night and do not try to string several together. Many parties start late and end at dawn, so it is wise to leave the next day free. For those who prefer music without the crowds, there are bars with DJs and live music all over the island.
A quieter night near Es Canar
You do not need to go to a club to enjoy the night. Near the apartments there are bars, restaurants and terraces a few minutes’ walk away, and Santa Eulalia, a few kilometres away, has a seafront promenade and plenty of places to eat. The beach clubs in the area, such as Nikki Beach or Atzaró, mix music and sunset, and work well as a first stop before carrying on.
How to plan your week
A formula that works is to alternate. A beach day and an unhurried lunch, a dinner night in Santa Eulalia, another at a beach club at sunset and the big party saved for a single night. That way you arrive rested and make the most of the island without wearing yourself out. Always carry photo ID, because most clubs ask for it at the door, and check the dress code if you book a table.
Tips for getting home safely
The best-known clubs are about 20 to 30 minutes by car from Es Canar. Plan your way back before you go out and do not drive if you are going to drink. The apartments have paid parking (€4 per day), so you can leave the car and get around by taxi or with a driver.
If you want to combine beach days with nights of music, the Cel Blau apartments in Es Canar are a calm base to rest between parties. You can check availability and book directly on our website.
